Very dark, big oily beans just like Montecillos marcala natural we had before.
It felt like these beans were a little stale even when opening the bag, as there was little to no bloom for the V60 cup. However, I was in for a big surprise when I tried them again for espresso.
I had to crank the Perfetto all the way to 0,5 setting, grinding these very finely to produce a nice espresso. It sure wasn't the prettiest shot (still a bit spritsy) but it tasted great!
Very smooth arrival, butterscotch en liquorice sweetness, an almost malt like quality. Guess we'll take a pass on these beans for V60 and go to the espresso immediately.
