Wakuli Blend Mexico Brazil 2020
225 grams for €5.30, from Wakuli. What a great surprise. One of you reading my previous wakuli blogs has actually used my The snoffeecob Wakuli referral link! which has resulted in a free bag of Wakuli blend arriving at my doorstep. Thanks for that and enjoy do enjoy your extra bag of beans yourself!
The Wakuli blend is the other second kind of possible subscriptions. Instead of getting the "new origin" different beans each month, the blend is consistent throughout the year. I might not have selected it myself, but since it is here let's give it a review.
This review is extra exciting for me, since it is the first one since my Flair Signature Espresso Maker has arrived. This allows me to review all the beans in a whole new way, for I have noticed that espresso is a completely different drink than the usual Aeropress drinks we used to brew.
And man is this exciting. I won't go into too much detail on the flair itself here, I'll create a separate blog for that. Let's just say I have had a lot of fun brewing espresso's with these Wakuli Blend beans. Even though it is quite a light-medium roast, it is very possible to produce very flavourful espresso without too much sourness, if you do it right.
For me, the Baratza Encore (with stepless mod) at about setting 8 produce fine enough grinds to properly extract these beans into a nice, thick, gooey espresso. Not sour at all, going from sweets of sugarcane to creaminess in butter and sparkliness of cider and grass.
I certainly wouldn't mind receiving more of these blend bags, so if you want to try the Wakuli beans and service yourself, make sure to use The snoffeecob Wakuli referral link!
